Toilet blocks
It might not be a glamorous thing to think about, but toilet blocks are essential if you want to hold a wedding outdoors. If you’ve ever been to a festival, toilet blocks might make you recoil in horror, but they’re not all like that! Many companies can provide deluxe toilet blocks with all the mod cons you’d expect from an indoor toilet. It’s recommended that you provide at least one toilet for every 50 guests, or more if you want to shorten the queue.
Shelter
Even if the weather is predicted to be glorious sunshine, you’ll need some sort of shelter in place. Many couples choose to have the ceremony uncovered, then retire to a marquee or gazebo for the evening meal. Some outdoor wedding venues also have a backup option (like a barn) if the weather takes a turn
Generators
You’ll need electricity to power microphones for speeches, speakers for music or instruments, and outdoor lighting. This can be provided via a generator so don’t forget to hire some for your big day! You’ll need at least one generator (depending on the wattage) but a rental company will be able to advise you in advance.
Weather proofing
This applies all year round and yes, people do have outdoor weddings in winter! If it’s cold, make sure you provide outdoor heaters, blankets for guests and extra shelter in case of rain or snow. If you’re holding your outdoor wedding in summer, you’ll still need shelter so that people can take a break in the shade. You might also want to provide fans and make sure there’s plenty of water so guests don’t get dehydrated.
