Bizarre Things Found in Portable Loos

Updated: May 1

Toilets are places where things are often forgotten, abandoned, or simply discarded. It’s not surprising that portable loos are even more likely to see some bizarre things. Here are a few of the oddities that have been found in portable loos over the years.

Sleeping People

When you are drunk or tired, a toilet seems like a great place to chill out and take a nap. Finding someone asleep in a portable loo isn’t as uncommon as you might like to think! Often, these are people who have had a little too much to drink and are sleeping it off in an enclosed space.

Jewellery

Sadly, jewellery may come loose and fall into the portable toilet and it’s much more difficult to recover than in a regular drain. However, it’s also quite common to have these items found on the floor or shelf where they’ve dropped. Watch out for this possibility and check that you have everything when leaving the toilet.

Weapons

From time to time, a weapon appears in a portable loo. Sometimes they’re simply dumped into the toilet to avoid discovery, but sometimes they’re simply taken out of a pocket and forgotten. You should definitely talk to the police if you find one.

Drugs

You may also find drugs in a portable loo. Whether they’re stashed there for someone else or a later time, forgotten, or simply dumped, there is any number of reasons you may find illegal substances in the loo. Contact the authorities in charge of the event so they can notify the police.

Cell Phones

Cell phones are prone to falling in toilets and portable loos are no exception. There are usually a few cell phones found after a weekend event! If they’re inside the loo, there’s not much that can be done. However, phones forgotten on a shelf may be placed in Lost and Found.

Clothes

Oddly enough, it’s very common to find clothing items in the portable toilet. No one is quite sure why this is, but since jumpers are some of the more common items, we can assume people overheat and remove their outerwear before using the toilet. Afterwards, they wash up and walk away, forgetting the item of clothing. However, we have no explanation for most other items.

There are certainly some odd things that turn up in portable toilets, but that’s to be expected when you have hundreds of people using them. To ensure you have the best toilets possible, contact Manchester Cabins. We’ll provide you with cleaned and serviced portable loos so you don’t need to worry about finding oddities.
